While we (Laura, Liz, Betsy, Natalie) were waiting in an extremely long line for these pancakes, Liz told us about this game called, "What Are The Odds" and it's pretty entertaining. The game goes like this: person A is trying to get person B to do something and person A says to person B, "What are the odds you do ________?" and then person B says some range with a maximum of 1-100. After that, both choose a number in their heads and then person A counts down 3, 2, 1 and then both person A and person B say the number they chose at the same time and if it is the same then person B has to do whatever person A said earlier. It's pretty fun. So that being said, Liz asked me, "What are the odds that if this guy in front of us is from California would you do a cartwheel in the grass over there?" and I said, "1-100" so we both picked a number in our heads and then we said our numbers. Mine was 32 and hers was 7. So therefore I didn't have to do a cartwheel in the grass. Woo!
After pancakes we all went back up to our rooms and relaxed a while. I came down and looked at Facebook and wrote my previous blog post. It was nice to relax a little by myself. Then I went back up to the apartment and ate lunch with Laura. I made myself a turkey sandwich and I had some hummus and crackers with some red grapes. You're welcome for the play by play haha. It was really good, that's why I'm telling you about it.
Once I had eaten lunch and Betsy was ready to head out to find our internship location we left on our journey to Spring Street in the Central Business District (CBD). Just so you know...there are two Spring Streets in Sydney, Australia. We had to find out the hard way. Since I have yet to get a phone plan, I wasn't able to whip up good ole Google Maps and get myself directions. I did have a map, but Spring Street wasn't on it because it was too far away to get that detailed of a map. But there was a street that was nearby Spring Street so we used that as a guide. BUT Betsy was in a hurry to get the address in her phone I guess and she plugged in the wrong Spring Street. So we found ourselves passing nice little neighborhoods, equal marriage rights rallies and people dressed as angels saying "namaste" in the park. It was quite the detour to the actual Spring Street. We were out wandering the streets for at least three hours walking and then we took the train back, which took maybe a total of 30 minutes. So we were seriously lost earlier. No worries though mom, I'm fine. (The phrase "no worries" is an Aussie phrase that people say ALL the time! I love it!)
Thank you again for reading my blog! It is so much fun to write and I hope you all can enjoy reading it!
What a day.
